More tough kids.

Barrel walks and hand stands.

Pull-ups and skin the cat.

Over the bleacher, balance beam walk and a flip at the end onto a mat.

Here are a few pictures of kids in the class and what we do. We had a great time today...we climbed on top of some storage containers and walked on a barrel. Trying to use things that we find to do really cool tricks! Sarah is brilliant at this...I'm slowly learning.

What I do on saturdays

On Saturday's I help coach a class called Tough Kids. We have all sorts of fun doing things kids used to do when they played and now are too scared or don't even think of. We have a great time. Halston and Stetson usually come but today they didn't. We learned how to walk on a barrel and do lazy vault's over a bleacher. We also work on pull-ups and skin the cat ( that's a pull-up an over.) We do cave man climbs on the bleachers, hand stands, then we go into the pool and swim laps learn to dive and climb a ladder and work out on rings suspended from the high dive. It's a great good time and a lot of times after the kids are gone Sarah ( the other coach that I help) and I mess around on stuff. I love it!

Heritage Halloween party!!!

Ready to party!!!

Thursday night Jake and Macey had their school Halloween party/carnival. Super fun. Jake hurt himself so he didn't go and Stetson had homework to finish. So, it ended up being the girls and Halston. There was a little trunk-or-treat and some booths. The kids were super great!!! Halston and Quincie stayed close and Macey took the kids cell phone and came right away when I called. This was our practice Halloween. We practiced make-up and its a good thing...we will do it a little different on Halloween night.... All I have to do is get out the camera and these 3 go bananas!!!! They are so silly!!! I had to finally ask if they wanted to go to theparty or stay and take more pictures.

Macey, me Grandma , Grandpa and Roger by Macey's Temple picture.

Macey Evening in Excellence 2010

Evening in Excellence 2010
Macey chose to do her 10 hour project in knowledge. She wanted to take some pictures at the temple and print out one that she could then blow up large and hang in our living room. Macey has quite a talent in taking pictures. She sees things that I totally miss. We went to the temple grounds one saturday morning and took pictures. We came home and she spent a couple of hours putting them together in collages. When we went to blow up the Temple picture that she really liked, we were told that it would be blurry...back to the Temple for more pictures this time she went with Grandma. ( she actually knows what she is doing) They went one day before school luckily it was a cloudy day that had beautiful sky's. The had a lot of fun. Two peas in a pod. Those pictures were even better. We were able to print one out in 20X30 size. She chose black and white and I found a frame. Shauna...my ohhh so awesome and know-it-all friend ( in a good way!!!) cut a mat and helped us frame it. It is GORGEOUS!!!!! The whole evening in excellence there was about 356 days of excellence leading to the temple. They had the cultural hall decorated with a red carpet running down the isle. At the end of the isle was Macey's Temple picture!!!! Right in the front of the room! They also had life-sized cut outs of all the girls that they got to decorate in their own style and value color. Each girl was then introduced by their parents and then the girl go to tell a little about the project and what they did. Macey is so cute. She got up and said "See this beautiful picture right here? I Took that picture with the help of my Grandma." She is one of the MOST confident girls I have ever met. She is confident with out being snotty or thinking she is better than everyone else. She accepts everyone and is friends with all! She is so wonderful. I am so lucky to have her for a daughter. I was/am so proud of her !!!!

Mom's getting boring...

Quincie with her new friend.

So happy that she has a playmate!

This is after she accidentally smashed her other little darling....

In her room where she made a small room that they kept crawling out of....

Quincie is the only kid at home during the days now. Now I know why it is a really bad idea to only have 1 child. We usually clean and do the typical up-keep on the house, go to the park or library, play with friends, color... stuff most mom's do with their kids. Today, I was super busy trying to finish Halston's Halloween costume...we have a trunk or treat party tomorrow night....so Quincie was left on her own a fair amount of time today. She played outside with her plastic dishes and water and was having a great time. The weather is so nice I had the door open right by my sewing machine. While I was sewing I happened to look at the floor by the door and saw these white-ish things under the tape we have keeping wires down. It looked like rice and I was sicked out thinking that somehow rice got all the way over by the door and when was the last time we had rice...??? Taking a closer look I saw that it was not in fact rice but...little white worms...maggots maybe???... that is at least what came to mind when I saw them....not sure what they are. Being that sicked out is not something I would keep from others so I called Roger and Quincie to come take and look. We all "eeeewwwweeeewww" -ed and "sick" -ed and I said I would clean it up in a minute...I was getting excitingly close to finishing the gorgeous cape I was sewing....next thing I knew Quincie had been quiet for quite a long time and she was now playing in her room. I decided to take a look. Sneaking quietly ( there are few things I love more than scaring the beegeebers out of my kids) I peered into her room and what do I see?? My sweet 3 year old holding her hands out and rocking and singing to 2 maggots!!!! She was singing lullaby's. She also had a tiny purple cradle she was rocking them in!! I left to laugh 'till I nearly wet my pants and after I composed myself, I grabbed my camera and went to take documentation of the deed. I don't know what is worse: the fact that she was playing with maggots or that she was startled like she was doing something wrong and that she preferred to play with maggots that with me!!! Granted I was busy but that is a low blow! Lunch time arrived and she washed her hands really well and put her "worms " outside. (They mysteriously disappeared while she was napping) When she woke up she was SO upset and crying that her "Magnet Worms" were gone.

Good heavens! I shudder to think what playmates she will find if I don't arrange a play date for her....but on the other hand the maggots were quiet and tidy...there was no cleaning up after them so maybe it wasn't that bad after all...KIDDING :)

Tuesday

Quincies Kimono. I promise its much cuter on her!!! It also has sparkles in the pink fabric...stinkin' cute!!!

This is the vest I made for Halston's halloween costume. He wants to be the Joker from Batman. I looked on youtube and found a step by step guide to sewing a cute vest. He loves it!

This is shiny purple fabric that I am making a cape for Halston also. Ok I know, the Joker doesn't really have a cape but the thing is, I don't know how to sew a suit jacket with tails...there wasn't even a tutorial of how to do it on youtube. I looked at paterns too but the only one I could find that was the Joker was 1 where he is wearing a cape...problem solved...I can sew a cape...plus...capser are so much easier. I cute it out while Halston was at school and had the pieces sewn mostly when he came home...what kid can resisit a cape after all...plus I am adding a hood...I know its totally extra, but after the relief that i wouldn't have to sew a tux jacket I was up for a hood....

This is one of my best friends. His name is SERGER!!! My mom sister and Roger went in on it for me I love it!!! On e of the great things about my sewing day today was that Rhea came too. I never see enough of her. She is sewing her Halloween costume too so I will try to get a picture of it tomorrow...yes that's right...we get another sewing day tomorrow...I have to finish the cape and some purple pants...yes...the Joker needs purple pants...who knows it will probably be easy......

I love Tuesdays!!! Tuesdays are sewing days. I have 2 friends that I called up last year soon after New Years. I thought about my life. Currently I didn't really have any friends that I would do anything with. Plus, there were few friends that I really wanted to do things with and what would we do if we did get together??? Well, one night it came to me. I was wanting to sew Quincie some skirts...its all she wants to wear. I thought it through and figured out how to make a really cute and super simple skirt. I called up some friends and asked them to come over and sew with me and I would teach them how to make a really cute skirt.

Monday

So I have been trying to post on this blog everyday. Its therapeutic and I like seeing what we do on most days. Well, Monday I had to rush out and I didn't have a chance to take any pictures. I asked Roger if he could take a few pictures of the kids so I could blog them later......this is what I got. Let's take a closer look....3 kids mostly showed here....Stetson does have a face...we actually have 5 kids. so not sure if the other 2 were missing or running around too fast to actually be captured on film...the ones that are pictured only 1 has a mostly full face while the others may not have known a picture was being taken or just chose not to acknowledge it. Whatever the case this is all there is....thanks for the help hunny:)

Better than that!!!

Well here it is.... a Sunday where we can actually open the doors. The last few months we have had cabin fever on Sundays. I know that's usually a term used for winter but here in the Valley of the Sun we have months where we can't really go outside because its so bloomin' hot!!!! Today after church we were able to open the doors. We stayed inside but just the fact that we had some outside air blowing through I think made all the difference.

Soccer Game

SOCCER TIME

WOW!!!!! Its been a couple of years since anyone has played soccer in the family. I am so glad that HAlston is playing. I love going to his games!!!
Here is the tiny little goals that they have. I guess if they can make a goal here they can make it anywhere!

High 5 after making a goal!

Halston age 6 soccer 2010.

Sitting on the bench for a short rest.

This was a great corner kick. I am very proud that I was able to capture this shot:)

Halston and Chase talking about the ball...who knows what they were doing....

Halston and X ( short for Xavier) to really fast boys!

Halston is an awesome soccer player!!!! Today was picture day. 7:30 am on a Saturday is a little early and it was actually chilly!!! By the time Halstons game rolled around we were getting toasty in the sun!!! This little guy just goes and goes!!! You don't even have to know where the ball is in the game. Just look for Halston and you will see the ball. He is a bit taller than the other boys..tallest in the picture line-up but that doesn't always mean anything, he's fast and keeps running too! Energiser bunny!!! At 6 Halston plays harder than any of my other kids did at any age. He loves basketball and it was his favorite sport until soccer came around....we have found his favorite sport is the one that he is playing at the moment. That is just as it should be!!!

Stetson's new glasses.10-22-10

Mr. Cuteness looking at himself in the mirror!!!
Selection of glasses...didn't try on very many.

Here's the place for great glasses!

Before the new glasses.

Nothing to say about how adorable he is here :)

First time trying on the new glasses

Super cute from the front...what a handsome dude!!!

It's a party on the side!!!! Brown and yellow what could be cuter???

Wow...needing a rest after all that long driving!!!

Stetson has ...well how do you say...not the best eyesight. He has about a -3.5. Poor guy. He has worn contacts the last year but didn't have back up glasses. We decided that he needed to give his eyes a rest every now and then. We went to our favorite Lesco optical...awesome place to get glasses not expensive!!! Boys are fun , try on about 5 pair and say I like theres don't need to try on any more. Girls would keep trying on in case they found some that they would like better. Not Stetson. Finds the ones he likes and that's it. Stetson was quite antsey about getting his glasses and it took a week and finally his glasses were ready. We took the trip out to Scottsdale and got the oh so stylin' glasses!!!
