WOW the first day of school finally arrived!!! This summer has not been very relaxing. Too many things going on with moving and Pappys funeral and visiting Pinetop. I'm glad we had a pool because we had a fun time with that hanging out in the the sun and laughing and splashing. It's been a nice having a pool I am sure we will really miss it next summer :( Too bad we willhave to move in July...what a perfect month in Arizona. It was a little different for school starting this year. Jake and Macey are on the waiting list for Heritage Academy and not able to be accepted yet. i decided to home school them since we have the curriculum and the when they do get in it won't be a hung change leaving friends and all that. Stetson and Halston started at Benjamin Franklin charter school. We are really excited for this chance at a better education and a smaller school. I really like what I have seen at the school so far. So, Jake and Macey stayed at home to start school and I took Stetson, Halston and Quincie ( and our friend and neighbor James) to school. It was a little wierd not having Roger there too. I think this is the first 1st day of school that he has ever missed. I know he was sad about that. I always cry on the first day of school and this year was no exception...I had a new kindergartner after all. My little buddy all grown up. It really got me as we were walking across the parking lot and I said "Halston get my hand we are in the black street " and he said " I don't need to anymore mom I am a big boy now." Like darts to the heart. I did keep it together long enough to have him go into his class room and out to the car but once I was in the car with just Quincie I cried. Cried for the sweet innocence that is somehow lost at school. Thank heavens he is only going half day, I would be a wreck if he were gone any longer! By the way Quincies war wound was her own doing. trying to do a summer salt and rubbed her skin off on the carpet...i hope it won't scar....
