So, I just read my friend Stacy's blog and got to thinking that I actually have a blog and I never use it. I should to keep up with all that's happening with everyone and to show everyone what is happening with our bunch!!!
Our latest??? We went to scout-o-rama on saturday. It's for cub scouts and their families. Picture this....several thousand kids in blue cub shirts and tons of parents or leaders in yellow or tan shirts. Tons and tons of people! Then picture me...a mom of 5 with one chickadee missing among all those thousands of people! Yes, I was crying when I found out that my 4 year old was in fact not with the group. I don't cry easily but when there are that many people and I can't find him for a long time....about 3 minutes was all it took for me to come unhinged this time....He had wondered off to look at another booth the opposite direction for where the rest of us went. Lucky for us and him he thought to find a guy in a uniform...scout this time... and told him he was lost and that he was from Queen Creek. The guy said that we should be proud of him but I was ready to chain him up for good! I do have to say it was a good experience in a couple of ways: 1 when I went over to my older boys and said their brother was lost and I needed help finding him they jumped right up and started looking for him...tears may or may not have helped at this point...2nd way, they other non-lost kids got together and prompted by their cousin said a prayer and I found the lost chick about 2 minutes after. 3rd way I think lost chick had no idea that I would be upset or be looking for him at all. When he saw me and yelled "Mommy" and ran to me and I bear hugged him almost to death while crying I think he was surprised and almost started crying himself. I was hoping that the shock value of making his stone mother cry might have a lasting effect and keep him from wondering for a little while...alas it didn't last 24 hours....sunday morning at stake conference he wondered before we could even get to our seats...i am thinking about investing in a choke chain or loud beeper collar.....
